Penrith will lock horns with Kendal in Regional 1 North West when the 2023/24 season starts up in September.
The Winters Park side were promoted as champions of Regional 2 North while Kendal survived after the two teams below them – Kirkby Lonsdale and Burnage – were relegated.
Lymm finished level on points with Blackburn at the top but had a better points differential to earn the one promotion place.
So it suggests that Blackburn might be the bench mark at this level after going so close to promotion.
It will be recalled that Blackburn established a British record last season when they beat Kirkby Lonsdale 190-0 – although it wasn’t quite a world record.
As well as Penrith going into the League two other sides have been promoted, Anselmians and Leek.
Anselmians were the champions of Regional 2 North West, winning 20 of their 22 games and taking the title with five points to spare over Bowdon who beat Penrith in a high-scoring Papa John’s tie last month.
Leek were champions of Regional 2 North Midlands to earn their first promotion to this level. They won 19 of their 22 games.
Contesting the League will be: Anselmians, Blackburn, Kendal, Leek, Macclesfield, Penrith, Manchester, Northwich, Penrith, Rossendale, Sandbach, Stockport and Wirral.
Kirkby Lonsdale who finished bottom of Regional 1 North West without a single point have gone to Regional 2 North West where they hope to re-group and come back stronger.
They will be up against: Altrincham Kersal, Birkenhead Park, Bowdon, Burnage, Crewe and Nantwich, Douglas (Isle of Man), Firwood Waterloo, Kirkby Lonsdale, Liverpool St. Helens, Vale of Lune, Whitchurch, Winnington Park.
In Regional 2 North there will be four Cumbrian clubs with Upper Eden and Cockermouth winning promotion from Counties 1 Cumbria, but Carlisle have dropped down to that League.
Upper Eden (champions) and Cockermouth (runners-up) join Aspatria and Keswick at that level.
The full make-up of the League is: Aspatria, Cockermouth, Consett, Durham City, Keswick, Middlesbrough, Morpeth, Northern, Percy Park, Stockton, Upper Eden and West Hartlepool.
Counties 1 Cumbria has been extended to 13 teams with Carlisle dropping down from the League above while Windermere come up from Cumbria 2 while Keswick 2nds have also been accepted.
The full line-up is: Carlisle, Creighton, Egremont, Hawcoat Park, Keswick 2nds, Millom, Penrith 2nds, St. Benedict’s, Silloth, Whitehaven, Wigton, Windermere, Workington.
