Carlisle Rugby Union Club will be hosting their annual Border 7s rugby festival at the Warwick Road ground later this month.
The event gets underway on Friday night, May 26, while the main programme on Saturday, May 27, centres around a men’s and women’s rugby 7s tournament running all day which carries a £250 prize for the winners.
There are local teams entered from the likes of Carlisle, Penrith, Keswick and Creighton, while several travellers include Middlesbrough, Blaydon, Novocastarians and many more.
There will also be live music throughout the day and night featuring The Reets and Adam Teasdale while spectators have food, ice cream and a bar available all day and night.
For the club Hannah Farrell said: “It’s definitely a fun family day out for all ages. Under-18s enter for free, but there will be wristbands for sale for children’s activities and inflatables/bouncy castle sold for £5 per child to have unlimited access all day.
“Carlisle Dance Academy will be performing on the day too while Friday is a music night, with four live singers performing. Doors will be open from 6pm with £2 entrance on the door.
“We are really excited to host this popular event again and we are expecting a really big crowd.”
