Barrow announce first friendlies ahead of season

Barrow have been quick off the mark to announce their first friendlies ahead of the 2023/24 season.

It’s become an annual visit over a number of years and once again Barrow will be taking a team to play town neighbours Holker Old Boys at Rakesmoor Lane.

That is likely to be the first friendly of the pre-season programme and will be played on Tuesday, July 11 (kick off 7.45pm).

Holker Old Boys just missed out on a play-off spot in North West Counties League Division One North in the season just ended, a year after they had lost in a play-off final.

Barrow, meanwhile, improved in League Two from just avoiding relegation to finishing in ninth place under Pete Wild.

The first confirmed friendly at home for the Bluebirds will be against Oldham Athletic on Tuesday, July 25 (ko 7.45pm).

Oldham were relegated from the Football League a year ago and in the season just ended finished a creditable 12th after a very poor start to their first campaign  in the National League.

The Barrow club say they will have news of more friendlies shortly and will keep fans updated on ticketing information.
