Leicester’s Cumbrian star Richard Lawson is set for a couple of days in hospital after a heavy Heat 15 crash in the win over Sheffield last night.
The former Workington Comets rider tangled with the Tigers’ Tobiasz Musielak and crashed heavily, and although he suffered no broken bones he has been ruled out of the trip to Ipswich on Thursday.
Manager Stewart Dickson said: “It wasn’t so much conceding a 5-1 in Heat 15 that took the shine off (the win) a bit, it was the incident with Richard.
“Richard feels okay but they want him in hospital for the next couple of days to keep an eye on him.”
He visited hospital for checks and will be kept in for two days in order to monitor a lung injury, although the initial diagnosis is that no surgery will be required.
