A Cumbria-based law firm has doubled the size of its Kendal headquarters to help its growing team support clients across the region.

Harrison Drury has secured additional office space at Bridge Mills, Stramongate, growing its office footprint by over 90 per cent and allowing the firm to accommodate almost 25 staff.

The firm already has 12 permanent staff at the location, and the extra space allows it to grow its team of solicitors in Kendal and accommodate other specialists that work across all its regional offices.

The news follows the recent appointment of construction lawyer Katherine Sibley and several other appointments made to its Kendal team in the past year.

John Osborne, partner at Harrison Drury and leader of the Kendal office, said: “We’ve enjoyed significant and steady growth by continuing to expand our legal specialisms to support our clients.

“This includes growing our rural sector team and Katherine joining as a partner and head of our construction law team.

“We needed to create more space to provide the best possible environment for our colleagues and clients and I’m delighted we’ve managed to achieve this by staying at Bridge Mills which is a great central location.”

As well as providing more room for staff, the extra space in Kendal will allow the firm to create additional facilities for client meetings and break-out rooms.

Harrison Drury covers a wide range of legal services including advising individuals and families on wills, trusts, divorce and family law and residential conveyancing.

Its commercial property team manages a range of matters including property purchases, sales and litigation and its commercial team advises businesses on a wide variety of commercial services including corporate transactions, employment law, and on matters involving regulatory, insolvency and dispute resolution.

John added: “Our client base is consistently growing in the Cumbria region as we continue to advise rural businesses and provide specialist advice to the leisure and hospitality sector and businesses in construction – who all play a key role in the region’s economy.

“As we strive to keep attracting talented legal specialists to bolster our team, it is critical that we plan ahead to ensure we have the capacity to accommodate them.”
