Snooker professional Tom Ford provided the finishing touch to the L&L Property Contractors Snooker League season with a classy display in front of a packed Workington Working Men’s Club crowd.
The 2023 German Masters finalist played eight frames against various league winners, producing some brilliant snooker along the way.
Starting the evening with a break of 114, finishing it with a total clearance of 135 and squeezing in two maximum attempts in the middle the Leicester cueman showed why he is at the top of his game right now sitting on a career one-year high ranking of 15.
Ford not only defeated all comers but also entertained the crowd with his East Midlands banter to the delight of the Workington audience.
Joining in with the celebrations the 39-year-old Foxes fan endeared himself to all as he chatted throughout the night to everyone who approached him.
Ford finished the evening off by presenting the seasons trophies and taking on anyone who wished to challenge him in a series of black ball shoot-outs.

That wasn’t enough for the 2022 UK Championship Finalist however, as he even joined league members in their after-party celebrations also taking time to update his social media accounts with complimentary feedback regarding his West Cumbrian experience.
League Chairman and MC for the evening Kevin Basnett said: “Tom was a true gentleman and an entertainer producing snooker of the highest quality in the process. The way in which he connected with everyone will stay with me forever.”
Basnett added: “The league has been running these evenings for over 15 years now and this one was right up there with the very best.”
Six months in the planning the presentation evening didn’t come together without the help of some important people namely Colin Fawcett of Workington Working Men’s Club, league treasurer Dave Chapman and league secretary Andrew Mitchelhill, who all played their part in an efficiently run event.

Finally though, the league stressed that the evening wouldn’t have been possible without the support of the leagues sponsors – Leigh Musgrave & Lewis Tilley of L&L Property Contractors, Stephen Jackson of Derwent Valley Asbestos Removal and Demolition and the leagues website sponsors – Breakaway Snooker and Pool Services.
Basnett added: “I’m delighted everybody thoroughly enjoyed the evening but I cannot thank Colin, Leigh, Lewis, Stephen and Davey enough for their help in making this night possible.”
