Workington Comets have redeclared teenager Luke Harrison in their line-up for National Development League speedway after recovering from injury.
Harrison appeared for the Comets against Berwick Bullets but did not feel fit enough to take his place in the British Under-21s qualifier at Northside last Sunday.
As a result of his return to the Comets official line-up Kelsey Dugard has been released and been quickly snapped up by Oxford for their NDL team ahead of a weekend Northern tour to Edinburgh and Berwick.
Dugard started the season as injury cover for Workington, who have now redeclared with Harrison back in their line-up, and he now replaces Jacob Fellows for the Chargers.
Team boss Peter Schroeck said: “Kelsey is a really talented rider at this level, and we have great faith in his ability to do a good job for us at reserve.
“There is no doubt in my mind that the Chargers can challenge for top honours this season.
“It’s tough on Jacob who leaves with our best wishes, but we’ve made a decision which we believe adds great strength in depth from top to bottom.”
Meanwhile Workington-based Kyle Bickley has been released by Edinburgh as the Monarchs make changes ahead of their next Cab Direct Championship fixture on June 9.
They have signed 20-year-old Danish rider Bastian Borke who has been recommended to the Monarchs by Hans Nielsen and Henrik Moller who have both watched his progress during their involvement in the Danish national set-up.
The Armadale club have released reserves Bickley and Jacob Hook from their Championship side – although they will stay with the club in the NDL – and will be using a 2.00 rider in that position, with Academy rider Dayle Wood coming in against Glasgow.
