Joel Dixon, the former Barrow and Workington goalkeeper, is back in non-League with recently relegated Hartlepool United.
Dixon, 29, had been released by Bolton Wanderers and has gone back to his native north-east to join the National League side on a free transfer.
Originally with Sunderland as their youth team keeper Dixon got his first senior experience with Workington Reds in 2013 in National North. He had two loan spells at Borough Park and played 12 times for the west Cumbrians.
Middlesbrough-born Dixon then had temporary transfers to Boston United, Hartlepool United and Gateshead before moving to Barrow permanently in 2015
He went on to make 195 appearances for Barrow during five fruitful years at the club, including 46 in League Two during the 2020-21 campaign.
He then moved to Bolton Wanderers on a two-year deal from Barrow at the beginning of the 2021-22 campaign but only made 24 senior appearances as he fell behind highly-rated Manchester City loanee James Trafford in the pecking order.
