Heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury enjoyed a meal at the Fantails restaurant in Wetheral, near Carlisle, over the weekend.
The 35-year-old champion was joined by his wife Paris at the popular restaurant. A passionate Manchester United fan, Mr Fury was wearing the club’s shirt just hours after their loss to Manchester City in the FA Cup final at Wembley.
“It was an absolute pleasure to serve The Gypsy King and his beautiful wife Paris last night,” said the restaurant in a Facebook post.
Fellow diners commented that the famous couple were more than happy to pose for photographs and sign autographs, with Mrs Fury also signing copies of her best-selling book ‘Love and Fury: the magic and mayhem of life with Tyson.’
Others said that the boxer had been in good spirits despite the disappointment of Manchester United losing, whilst one person joked about whether Mr Tyson would have hit his head on the restaurant’s low ceilings and door frames.
The Fury’s are regular visitors to Cumbria, holidaying in the Lake District each summer and often seen spending time with their family in Ambleside and the South Lakes. Mr and Mrs Fury are about to welcome their seventh child.
