Wath Brow Hornets can put more pressure on the top two sides tomorrow in the National Conference Premier Division.
The West Cumbrians sit a point behind the leading pair Hunslet Amateurs and Rochdale Mayfield and have a home game against the bottom side Leigh Miners Rangers.
Coach Ian Rooney will insist there will be no complacency from his side against a Leigh outfit that has only won twice in 11 outings as one of them was last week, 34-28 at home to Lock Lane.
The Hornets are in good form, encouraged by an excellent 36-4 win last week at mid-table Thatto Heath Crusaders.
Kells were also heartened last week by a 31-28 home win over Siddal which lifted them to fifth in the table, that had followed two successive defeats on Humberside.
Tomorrow they travel to York Acorn, another long trip, to face a side who are only a point above the drop zone and who felt the full might of title challengers Rochdale Mayfield last week where they were beaten 56-12.
It’s a big day for Egremont Rangers who have found their form nicely with five successive victories which lifted them into fourth place in Division One.
A brilliant second-half display at Clock Face Miners carried them to a 40-8 win last week and they will be looking to follow up at home to Pilkington Recs.
Unlike Egremont, their fellow relegation sufferers Pilkington Recs and Thornhill Trojans have continued to struggle at the lower level and both are in more drop zone trouble.
Barrow Island edged a tight game with Dewsbury Celtic 23-22 in Division Two last week and go in search of a Dewsbury double.
They travel to Dewsbury Moor Maroons, which will be decidedly tougher as they sit second in the table two points behind leaders Waterhead Warriors.
Top game in Division Three is a Cumbrian derby in which third-placed Ellenborough Rangers entertain Millom who are one place below them.
Both teams have won six and lost three, with Ellenborough enjoying a superior scoring differential, and a keen, well-contested clash is expected.
There should have been another Cumbrian derby but Seaton v Hensingham is off because of the village carnival. Seaton offered to play tonight but Hensingham did not accept and a new date will be set by the League.
