I suppose over my time in journalism the matches I have watched and reported must run into hundreds and hundreds – from football to cricket, both codes of rugby to speedway.
But it was all through pure luck that I got my start in the profession and come this September 30 I will have been in journalism for 60 years.
I honestly wonder where it’s all gone.
