Think you know the players of Workington Town? Think again!
Prop forward Grant Reid and club chairman Graeme Peers, took fullback Zarrin Galea and Bear Williams, another prop forward, on a tour of West Cumbria.
They stop off at Born & Bread in Maryport – run by a Town fan, of course – for some sandwiches, or, as Zarrin puts it in proper Aussie slang, a sanga.
Along the way they try to make out the Isle of Man on the horizon – though Bear’s sense of direction is a little off – learn that you can’t quite see Ireland, and Grant pays a forfeit after failing at a game of catch….
In the video, arranged by club sponsor Fibrus Broadband, viewers also find out who has the worst dress sense – Zarrin again – no-one is impressed by his shorts worn back Down Under at Christmas – and that Bear is literally Paddington Bear, having been born in that part of London, plus a debate on whether pigeons are real.
Graeme said: “They are really good lads and we had a fun day taking them around the sights of West Cumbria. But I had to turn back on the outskirts of Whitehaven – there are some places they don’t need to see.”
