Whitehaven have made two loan signings from the Super League club Castleford Tigers.
Bailey Dawson, 20, and George Hill, 18, will join Jonty Gorley’s squad for Sunday’s home game with Featherstone Rovers, their third game in eight days.
Dawson is comfortably at home in either the second row or at centre and has spent time at Midlands Hurricanes in 2022 and 2023 making 15 appearances, scoring five tries including four in nine appearances this season.
Hill is a hooker who is yet to make his senior debut for the Tigers but was named as 18th man in their Challenge Cup sixth round defeat to Hull FC last month as well as being a regular in the Tigers reserves fixtures.

Gorley said: “Firstly I’d like to thank Danny Wilson from Castleford and massive wraps to Ashley Kilpatrick. Ashley has been relentlessly trying to bolster the squad and has worked really hard to bring Bailey and George in. These two fellas wouldn’t be here without him.
“Bailey has been going really well for Midlands Hurricanes and has been on our radar for a while and we’re glad to get him at last. He’s a robust back rower who can also do a job at centre and Cas are wanting to test him at this level.
“George has been getting good reports playing for Cas’ reserve grade and is really good in defence and will be an option in spelling James Newton at 9 after ‘Newts’ has played a lot of minutes since his return to the squad.”
Whitehaven go into their second successive home game after an exciting 26-24 win over York City Knights on Wednesday.
