Cumberland FA is to host a workshop for grounds volunteers across the county.
In partnership with the Grounds Management Association, the Cumberland FA is hosting the event for grounds volunteers to gain benefit from listening to experts from The GMA.
It will also hear from local volunteers who are looking after sites across the county.
Cleator Moor Celtic Football Club, off Birks Road, will host the event on Wednesday, August 16 at 6.30pm at no cost.
The evening will focus on: Insight from Grounds Management Association experts; hearing from local Ggound volunteers and the work they have been doing; learn about funding opportunities and seeing machinery in action which could help particular surfaces
The evening is open to anyone wishing to go along to increase their knowledge, learn how machines can benefit their surface as well as chatting with other people who are in similar positions.
There will be a mix of outdoor viewing of the type of machinery available and how it can help with an opportunity to benefit from insight from The GMA experts as well as local volunteers, David Graham and Tom Banks, who have agreed to talk about their experiences.
Even if a club or site is already benefitting from the Football Foundation’s Grass Pitch Maintenance funding, the county FA is still keen for the ground volunteers to attend and share experiences with those in attendance to showcase the excellent work going on around the county.
