Tonight’s friendly at Gillford Park between Carlisle City and Workington has been called off.
The pitch was waterlogged after heavy rain and declared unplayable about four hours before the scheduled kick-off time.
It’s the second successive Tuesday in which Reds have been denied a game – last week it was Morecambe who pulled out because they were unable to raise a team.
Workington are due to play at Whitley Bay on Saturday and are still trying to re-arrange the game with Morecambe. They have played three so far – beating Whitehaven (5-2) and losing to Dumbarton (0-4) and Carlisle United (0-3)
Carlisle City have beaten Lochmaben (7-0), Milnthorpe Corinthians (6-1), drew with Garstang (2-2) and lost to Kendal (0-1).
