A Carlisle road will close from Monday for embankment repairs.
Contractors are set to start work at Cairn Bridge, near Warwick Bridge, on Monday.
Work will last until September 6, weather permitting.
A diversion will be in place through Warwick Bridge and How and a one-way system will be in place near How to ease congestion around the level crossing area.
If residents or businesses require access to their property, they are asked to discuss it with the traffic marshal, who will be on site during the work.
