Workington Town have confirmed their first re-signing for the 2024 season.
Full-back Jordan Burns, who has made an impressive start to his Town career this season has again signed for the Fibrus Community Stadium club.
Burns was Division One player of the year in 2022 with Kells in the National Conference and he was returning to the pro ranks after previously playing over 100 games for Whitehaven.
A full-back or centre he has slotted in perfectly for Anthony Murray who is delighted to have secured his services again for next season.
He was on the score-sheet on Sunday at Cornwall where brother Aaron also got over the home try-line. Both brothers had fulfilled an ambition to play professionally together when they joined Town for the current season.
Sunday’s win at Cornwall hoisted Town up to third in the table and secured their play-off place.
They have a big game in prospect on Sunday when they entertain Doncaster whose surprise, heavy home defeat by Midlands Hurricanes saw them drop to fourth.
