MP Mark Jenkinson has confirmed his second Workington Skills Fair will take place early next year.

The inaugural event in February hosted businesses, local employers as well as education and training providers.

This year’s Skills Fair will be held at the Workington Leisure Centre on Thursday February 8 from 3pm until 7pm.

Mr Jenkinson said: “Last year’s Skills Fair allowed hundreds of young people access advice, careers guidance, and training opportunities.

“Building on that success, I am determined to make this year’s Skills Fair even bigger and better than its predecessor.

“Whether you’re a school leaver, graduate or just looking for a new opportunity, it will be a great chance to meet with and chat to some brilliant employers and skills providers from West Cumbria and beyond.

“It is a privilege to bring businesses, top training providers and national employers to our area to raise aspirations, nurture talent and help our young people reach their potential.”

Gen2, Cumbria LEP, Lakes College, JTL Training, Persimmon Homes, and SP Training are among the sponsors.

Other exhibitors and attendees will be confirmed later.
