A person has died in a two storey house fire in Wigton.
Firefighters were called yesterday at around 11.30pm yesterday to Longthwaite Road and remained on the scene for three hours.
Crews from Aspatria, Wigton and Carlisle West used two hose reels, two breathing apparatus, one thermal imaging camera and one positive pressure fan to bring the incident under control.
The individual was found deceased and no other people were found in the property.
Fire investigators have returned this morning with Cumbria Police to carry out a joint investigation to find the origin and cause of the fire.
The cause remains unknown at this time and the investigation is expected to continue throughout the weekend.
No additional information has been shared about the victim.
