The draw has been made for the Sports Insure British Final at Belle Vue on Monday August 14.
Defending champion is West Cumbrian racer Dan Bewley who has been drawn at No.15 for the event, which will see him face his Aces team-mate and 2019 winner Charles Wright in his first ride.
Wright and Bewley are former Workington riders and they are among six ex-Comets taking part in the meeting.
Three former champions will meet in Heat 2 with one of the ex-Comets Craig Cook, Danny King and Rory Schlein all drawn together in that race.
The winner of the meeting – or the runner-up if Bewley clinches back-to-back titles – will receive a Wild Card for the British Grand Prix at Cardiff on September 2.
DRAW: 1 Simon Lambert, 2 Adam Ellis, 3 Richie Worrall, 4 Kyle Howarth, 5 Craig Cook, 6 Danny King, 7 Rory Schlein, 8 Tom Brennan, 9 Ben Barker, 10 Chris Harris, 11 Steve Worrall, 12 Leon Flint, 13 Richard Lawson, 14 Lewis Kerr, 15 Dan Bewley, 16 Charles Wright.
Bewley, Wright and current Comets number one Connor Bailey were riding for Belle Vue last night as the Aces produced a storming finish to take match and aggregate points from a hard-fought Roses clash with Sheffield at the National Speedway Stadium.
The Aces came from four points down to win 52-38, clinching the additional point with a 5-1 in Heat 15 as Jaimon Lidsey and Bewley came from the back.
Lidsey raced to 13+1 for the home side with Bewley adding 12+1 and Rising Star Bailey impressed with 7+1, with their play-off place now officially secure. Wright had an off night with just four points and a fall in his four outings.
Meanwhile Craig Cook made his Leicester debut last night in a 45-45 draw at Wolverhampton.
The new-look Lions looked set to take an away win when they led by eight points after Heat 9 but Wolves hit back strongly and levelled the scores in Heat 15.
But the ultimate Super Heat decider looked to be heading the visitors’ way as Max Fricke and Richie Worrall held second and third places – only for Fricke to crash on the very last bend enabling Rory Schlein to come through.
Both sides therefore went away with two points as the Lions received a point for the ‘draw’ and also took the aggregate point.
Cook only scored one point from three rides. He retired in his first outing, then picked up a third and was out of the points in his last.
