A Lake District community will benefit from a dedicated officer to address issues and concerns over crime and anti-social behaviour.
Adam Roberts has joined the Neighbourhood Policing Team in South Lakes and will cover Ambleside.
PC Roberts previously worked as part of the response team in Windermere for over two years and prior to this he was an operational officer in both Kendal and Barrow.
He has already launched regular Sit and Chat sessions in the park, made inroads into the local schools and is currently in the process of arranging a multi-agency day around water safety and ASB on the shores of Windermere.
Inspector Grant Kelso, of South Lakes Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “PC Roberts will be out and about in the community offering that visible presence.
“As part of his role he will be engaging with the local residents, business owners and visitors to prevent crime and tackle anti-social behaviour.
“PC Roberts is an experienced officer and his knowledge and skills from previous roles will assist him in working to assure any arising issues or concerns for residents or businesses are dealt with swiftly and effectively.”
PC Roberts said: “Over the coming weeks and months I am looking forward to getting to the root of the key issues facing the area.
“I will be based at Ambleside police station and you can reach out to me or visit us at the station should you have any concerns you wish to raise.
“I am sincerely looking forward to getting to know the area and I trust that my position will prove to be beneficial to the community.”
