Just as they did last season Barrow are up with the pace in the early stages of the season in League Two.
Manager Pete Wild will be hoping they can build even more on their good start this season and they won’t fade away as they did last time.
Two late goals in the space of three minutes turned the game on its head after Barrow had struggled to get level against the ten men of Sutton United.
The visitors had striker Harry Smith sent off for violent conduct after just 13 minutes but grabbed the lead before half-time and were still ahead going into the last 15 minutes.
Smith’s dismissal was given for a crazy stamp after he and Tom White had clashed through an accidental clash of heels. Referee Martin Woods did not see the incident but he responded with the red card after it was pointed out by the fourth official.
Despite their handicap Sutton went ahead in the 33rd minute when Angol capitalised on some hesitancy from White. While he pondered Angol stole the ball and drove towards goal when he shot, and although Paul Farman blocked the initial effort the Sutton man was alert and drove in the rebound.
Barrow went close through when Ged Garner hammered a shot against the crossbar, and also put one into the side-netting.
The Bluebirds continued to fashion chances in the second half but there were openings for Angol and Omari Patrick which fortunately for Barrow they couldn’t take.
It was looking as though Sutton might hold onto their lead before two quickfire goals gave the Bluebirds their second League win.
On 79 minutes Emile Acquah ran on to Sam Foley’s ball over the top before hammering home his first goal for the goal.
Three minutes later, Foley found Jamie Proctor in the box and he poked home the winner to break Sutton’s brave resistance.
