Tightest game in the Holmen Iggesund Cumberland RL saw Cockermouth beat Ellenborough A 24-10.

It represented a recovery by the Titans as they had trailed 10-6 at half-time and were able to score 18 unanswered points in the second half.

Tries by Luke Broster and Riley Burr, with a conversion from Brett Stevenson had given Elbra their half-time lead.

But Cockermouth, who had produced an unsuccessful second-half fight-back at Wath Brow last week, had more joy this time.

They finished with five tries, two of them converted by Regan Tinnion, which was good enough to earn them the points.

Ethan Cross (2), James Hunter, Ash Smith and Adam Cavanagh scored the Cockermouth tries to clinch the win.

Wath Brow A continued their pursuit of Distington at the top of the table when they were 58-10 winners at Egremont A.

They were well on course for the win at half-time with a 28-4 lead and there was little Egremont could do to prevent them extending that advantage in the second-half.

Wath Brow’s National Conference top try scorer Jay Weatherill had a run-out for the A team and led the way with four touchdowns. Layton Dockwray (2),  Jenson Olstrum, Jackson Benn (2), Peter Caddy, Gregg Rooney and Luke Davidson scored the others.

Olstrum and Weatherill each landed two goals for the Hornets.

Egremont’s points came from tries by Brad Long and Dillon Scott with a conversion by Kaiden Block.

Lowca had an impressive 68-28 home win over Glasson Rangers, scoring 34 points in each half.

Their 13 tries were scored by Mitchell Todd (3), Luke Stockton (2), Emmerson Allen (2), Dean Haigh, Keith Campbell, Jamie Scott, Callan McGrady, Mullen Robinson and Ashton Briscoe. Scott kicked eight goals.

Glasson scored tries through Matt Burns (3) and Connor Wilson (2). Luke Johnson converted all four.
