Mitch Graham was a local Moto-X rider who tried his luck at speedway and went on to have a good career, mainly with Workington Comets and Hull Vikings, although a serious back injury really brought it to an end prematurely.
He joined me at Derwent Park this week to reminisce on his career which started at Derwent Park in 1972.
When he left for Hull after the 1974 season he boasted a Comets average of 10.00.
Mitch talks about the riders he raced with and against, of how he made the worst decision of his life, and how well Steve Lawson has done with the new Northside track and stadium.
