A popular Cockermouth restaurant has been forced to close for good as it has struggled to recruit staff.
A new management team took over Fredericks Lounge Bar and Restaurant earlier this year after the previous management went into administration.
However, a post on social media site Facebook today said: “We are very sorry to have to inform you that Fredericks is closed with immediate effect.
“We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their support since we took over the management of the business under difficult circumstances earlier this year.
“We have really struggled to recruit staff, particularly chefs, and regrettably we are no longer able to operate as a business.”
The restaurant said it had contacted everyone who has a booking in the next seven days by email and signs would be put up on the door to say the business had shut.
