Amateur Rugby League action this weekend

There might be no Conference League action in Cumbria this weekend but local enthusiasts can still get their amateur rugby league action.

The Holmen Iggesund Amateur RL has three matches taking place with the stand-out game tomorrow.

Distington, looking to retain their League title, host fourth-placed Cockermouth.

The Titans have produced some excellent performances this season but won’t want to dwell on last week’s performance when they crashed 54-0 at Lowca.

As always, a lot depends on the strength of teams can put onto the field each match and Cockermouth will hope to be stronger for their biggest test.

Distington didn’t play last week and will be hungry to get the job done tomorrow and continue their fight for another title.

There are two games tonight at Ellenborough and Wath Brow.

Elbra A entertain Lowca who are fresh from that big win over Cockermouth.

With the first team having completed their programme and winning Conference League promotion, it will be interesting to see how many of those players they can use tonight.

Lowca look as though they are going to finish just outside the top four for the end-of-season play-off but they have produced some decent performances and a good contest is in prospect tonight.

Wath Brow A will start favourites to continue their push for the title when they host Glasson and have a recent win over the Maryport side behind them.
