
Barrow battled from conceding a penalty to earn a good home point in a 1-1 draw with Wrexham.
The visitors had been the better side in the first-half, a threat particularly from set pieces, but it was a much more vibrant Barrow in the second-half who responded well.
The home side had taken the lead after 12 minutes when Tyrell Warren brought down Ollie Palmer in the area. Elliot Lee thumped the ball down the middle to give his side the lead.
The Barrow equaliser was a beauty on 52 minutes from Emile Acquah who curled in a great shot on the run into the top right corner, and former Carlisle goalkeeper Mark Howard had chance.
Barrow have just signed experienced striker Dom Telford and he was given 20 minutes at the end, replacing goal-scorer Acquah.
After the equaliser Barrow were close to grabbing the lead when Spence found space outside the area andand although the shot had Howard scrambling it was kjust wide.
Proctor came close to a goal but a header was superbly saved by Howard to the relief of his defenders.
Near the end Wrexham broke well and could have done better but Sam Dalby’s low cross was missed by the onrushing Lee.
Barrow are ninth in the table at this early stage of the season on eight points four points behind the joint leaders ML Dons and Gillingham.
