Cockermouth cricket club is celebrating its 200th anniversary this year and held a special game and social gathering at Sandair to officially record the fact.
That presented the perfect opportunity to meet up with a couple of old friends – Cockermouth stalwarts – to talk about their long association with the club.
Raymond Denham and Kenny White have both been involved since they were boys and are now in their 80s.
The Denham family has been involved since 1900 and Raymond is still busy down the club as groundsman, preparing wickets etc with a group of senior ‘apprentices.’
I hopped along to Sandair to catch up with the two of them and discuss some of the memories they have of a life where so much time was spent at Cockermouth cricket club.
You can hear the conversation here….
