Groups of youngsters have been banned from congregating in Workington town centre overnight.
Allerdale police said a dispersal order was put in place from 3.45pm yesterday, September 2, which lasts until 7am today, September 3.
The order has been put in place following several reports over the last week of anti-social behaviour in the town.
Under a dispersal order, if officers suspect a person – or group of people – are causing or are likely to cause crime, nuisance or anti-social behaviour to other members of the public, they can direct them to leave a designated area and not return for up to 48 hours.
A person who disregards a direction to leave commits an offence.
