
A 40-year-old man was stuck in trench for several hours overnight after he injured himself falling into it.
The man had fallen into the trench across a closed road in Durdar at some point overnight on August 30.
He lain undiscovered until contractors arrived at the site at 7am the next day.
Crews from Brampton Fire Station, Carlisle West Fire Station and Carlisle East Fire Station were called out to help.

They used specialist equipment to rescue the man, who was given into the care of the North West Ambulance Service and taken to hospital, suffering from injuries and suspected hypothermia.
