Cockermouth Swimming Club’s Great Britain star Luke Greenbank is reported to have had an altercation with his Olympic team-mate Adam Peaty.
During a recent training session three-times Olympic champion Peaty sustained a facial injury after a minor incident involving Greenbank.
British Swimming say the incident was “quickly and effectively resolved” by the athletes and staff present and that Peaty did not require any hospital treatment.
Witnesses claimed that it kicked off when Peaty cracked a joke to Greenbank and then hit him on the backside.
A scuffle broke out that left Peaty needing treatment for a facial injury. He was later seen with a small gash above his left eye.
