Workington’s FA Cup second qualifying round tie at Darlington next week will be played on the Friday night.
The Quakers share the Blackwell Meadows Stadium with Darlington rugby union club and they have a scheduled game on Saturday.
Darlington play in the Counties 2 Durham and Northumberland League and have a home fixture against Ashington.
There was an alternative date of the Sunday but after discussions between the two clubs it was agreed that the game should be played on Friday, September 15 (ko 7-45pm).
Meanwhile, after announcing they had sacked manager Alun Armstrong and his assistant Darren Holloway after Tuesday night’s 0-0 home draw with Boston, the Darlington board has announced a group of senior players will take charge until a permanent appointment is made.
A club statement said: “Will Hatfield, Tom Platt and Jake Lawlor have agreed to take caretaker charge until somebody is appointed permanently to the manager’s position.
“We are certain that all Darlington fans will support the three senior players as they prepare for the away game at Bishop’s Stortford on Saturday.
“The club has already received several applications for the role, and the board is now working through them. Applications should be sent by Monday teatime, 11th September.”
It means that if the Darlington directors do appoint the new man after that his first game in charge will be against the Reds.
