Workington Comets final National Development League fixture at Northside has been postponed.
Heavy rain has flooded part of the track and with more rain forecast for Saturday, September 16, it was decided to make an early call for opponents Kent Royals.
No new date has been announced as yet for a restaging of the meeting which will complete a first season of NDL racing for the Comets.
They had been struggling with injuries ahead of the meeting with both Ace Pijper (elbow) and Sam McGurk (kneecap) ruled out.
Australian Dayle Wood had been booked as a guest for Pijper while the Comets were going to operate rider replacement for McGurk
Comets fans will now be keen to follow events in Poland on Sunday at the Polish Eskraliga final for Wroclaw where Connor Bailey is riding alongside West Cumbrian star Dan Bewley, when he will be mounted on the injured Tai Woffinden’s machinery.
