There’s been good news on two fronts for Whitehaven cricket club at the end of the season.
Two of the club’s junior players – Kian Larmour and Billy Thompson – have both shown fantastic form for both the county and the club.
At the County Under-15’s presentation they each picked-up a major award.
Kian took the Players’ Player batting award after a season in which he scored 844 runs.
Then to complete the club double Billy claimed the corresponding bowling award with 33 wickets.
The Whitehaven club – whose second and third teams both achieved League and Cup doubles – feel fortunate in having such promising talent.
Whitehaven have also announced that they have re-signed professional Terance Warde for the 2024 season.
The West Indian has completed another good stint at The Playground with 936 runs (avge 58.50) and 25 wickets (avge 17.08).
He returned this year after having to miss out in 2022 to commitments in the West Indies. He had first played for the club in 2021, so will be back for a third season next year.
