Dates for the nine first round ties in the Fred Conway Cumberland County Cup have now been agreed by competing clubs.

Holders Workington Reds will start their defence of the trophy at Borough Park on Tuesday, October 17 against Gosforth.

In many ways the tie of the round, between Carlisle City and Carlisle United, has been fixed for next Tuesday, September 26.

Also playing next Tuesday, in a West Cumbria derby – the two West Lancashire sides, Whitehaven at home to Cleator Moor Celtic.

Next into action on October 3 are Penrith at home to Bransty Rangers, which is probably going to be the first competitive game played on the new surface at Frenchfields.

The following night, Wednesday October 4 it will be Windscale at home to Braithwaite.

Four ties have been scheduled for Saturday, October 7 – Silloth v Whitehaven Miners; Wigton Harriers v Keswick; Wetheriggs United v Kirkoswald; Cockermouth v Maryport Athletic.
