Workington Amateur Operatic Society invites you to a night at the opera for a spellbinding musical that has captured the imagination of millions of people.

The Phantom of the Opera is among Andrew Lloyd Webber’s most famous musicals and WAOS has been granted permission to perform it from the Really Useful Company.

Based on the 1910 French novel of the same name by Gaston Leroux, it tells the story of a beautiful soprano, Christine Daaé, who becomes the obsession of a mysterious, masked musical genius living in the subterranean labyrinth beneath the Paris Opéra House.

From the society that brought you Shrek and School of Rock, Workington Amateur Operatic Society presents the iconic musical, featuring famous songs Music of the Night and All I Ask of You, along with the iconic chandelier – this show will certainly be a spectacle that is not to be missed.

Music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, lyrics by Charles Hart, additional lyrics by Richard Stilgoe and a libretto by Lloyd Webber and Stilgoe.

WAOS will perform The Phantom of the Opera from October 10 to October 14 at the Carnegie Theatre in Workington.
