President’s Cup-ties dominated the latest round of matches in the West Cumberland Sunday League.

Northside, beaten in the Premier Division by title rivals Parkside last week, bounced back in the Cup with a 7-0 home win over Moresby Rangers.

The Workington side got back on track with goals from Anthony Zajac (2), Max Litt (2), Jamie Bramley, Cain Pears and Harry Watson.

It was much tighter at Wakefield Road where Deer Orchard  were involved in a good Cup-tie against Senhouse Street before going under 3-2.

Mike Graham and Robert Cox scored for Orchard but goals from Zack Starkie, Gary O’Driscoll and Dan Smith won it for the visitors.

There was the same score at Salterbeck where the home side lost to Flimby Social.

Charlie Shaw scored both for the hosts but Flimby got through with goals from Mark Brown, Brandon Birks and Lazo Rayner.

Lowca Pirates had established a 3-0 half-time lead at Bluebell and they went on to make progress in the competition on the back of a 7-3 victory.

Travis Fyfe (3), Dean Laughlin, Shane Tyson, Daniel McConvey and Owen Woodburn hit the rigging for the Pirates with Bluebell responding through Carl Denver (2) and Grant Quayle.

First Division leaders Sun Inn made progress at the expense of Premier Division strugglers Thornhill.

The Aspatria side won 5-1 with goals from Louie Elliot, Kieron McCluskey, Mal Graham, Dom Harrison and Jack Coyne with Jaz Hodgson scoring Thornhill’s consolation.

The other games were in the First Division with wins for FC Butchers, The Sun and King’s Arms.

Butchers were at Seaton Rangers and went home with a 5-2 win courtesy of goals from Ethan Costin, Callum Foy, Cameron Carter, Tom Bethwaite and Joe Hetherington. Ben Graham and Fran Graham scored for the Rangers.

Brendan O’Fee (2), Martyn Rossi and Leo Seagar helped the Sun record only their second win of the season at the expense of the Swan who could only reply once through Jack Parker.

King’s Arms were recording only their second win, too, when they beat Royal Oak 4-2 with goals from  Sam Rowell (2), Jordan Baird and Owen Adair.  The Oak goals came from Kieran Moore and Daniel Wilkins.

Fixtures for Sunday, October 29 are as follows:-

Premier Division: Moresby Rangers v Deer Orchard; Thornhill v Lowca Pirates.

Division One: Salterbeck v Royal Oak.

President’s Cup:  Flimby Social v Northside; Kings Arms v FC Cosmos; Parkside v Senhouse Street.
