
FC Cosmos produced a splendid recovery to make it through to the semi-final of the West Cumberland Sunday League’s Cumberland Cup.
They were 3-0 down to Lowca Pirates before fighting back level and take the game to penalties where they came out on top 6-5.
Owen Woodburn (2)m and Travis Fyfe had scored the Lowca goals to boost hopes of going through but Cosmos came back level through Bradley O’Pray, Lewis Park and Owen Woods.
In the Premier Division leaders Parkside were too strong for Thornhill and ran out 9-1 winners.
The goals came from Andrew Bulman (2), Kev Thompson (2), Jamies Martin (2), Darren Little, Leigh Dunn and Andrew Smith. Harvey Stainton replied for Thornhill.
The only other game that went ahead was in the First Division in which Salterbeck beat Seaton 5-1 2ith goals from Charlie Shaw (2), Neil Melton (2) and Matthew Fraser. John Cashman scored for Seaton.

The Albert Murphy Trophy – Swan v Salterbeck.
The Albert Murphy Trophy is for Workington teams only while the Egremont teams will play in the Kenny Hailes Memorial Trophy. It’s been organised that way to keep some old League historical reminders.
