Holders Workington Zebra Finches progressed to the third round of the RFU Junior Plate without even taking to the pitch, writes John Hastings.
They were due to host RFU North 3 leaders Northallerton at The Ellis on Sunday, but the North Yorkshire club withdrew as they were unable to raise a team.
Workington travel to Durham City – also from RFU North 3 – in the third round on February 4.
Before all that, the Finches’ RFU North 2 league campaign continues at The Ellis this Sunday, when they take on Keswick Falcons in what promises to be a tasty top of the table encounter.
