H&H is saying farewell to a South Cumbrian auction centre after almost 19 years of operation.
The final sale at Broughton-in-Furness Auction Centre is due to be held on Monday, December 11 – postponed from December 4.
Scott Donaldson, managing director of Harrison & Hetherington, said the decision to close the mart was not taken lightly, but was influenced by factors beyond their control, citing falling stock numbers and the dramatic increase in running costs.
Mr Donaldson said: “It has been a real privilege to have been involved with Broughton Mart and the customers from this beautiful corner of south west Cumbria, together with the Herdwick Breeders, who have loyally supported these sales over the years, and as a company we hope to maintain these relationships.”
