Two goals in the first eight minutes proved crushing blows for Carlisle City to take in their FA Vase third round tie at home to Charnock Richard.
Although it stayed the same until the last ten minutes the visitors scored two more on the break to go through with a 4-0 victory.
City manager Jim Nichols said: “It was a very disappointing result and really it was job done for them after those two early goals.
“It took us about half an hour to get into the game against a good side who move the ball around well.
“We hit the bar, their keeper made a very good save and we missed a couple of opportunities but really we weren’t really at it.
“When we threw the kitchen sink at them later in the game they were able to break and score two more goals which probably flattered them over the 90 minutes.
“Our lack of game time and proper training facilities because of the weather hasn’t helped but we have ton accept it and move on.
“We are looking for a top five finish in the Northern League and have a busy programme ahead, starting on Tuesday at Sunderland RCA so we need to get back in the groove with a win in mid-week.”
Charnock Richard, from the North West Counties League went ahead with two goals from Rustam Stepans in the third and eighth minutes.
Jacob Ridings added a third after 82 minutes and Stepans completed his hat-trick two minutes later.
Charnock Richard will now travel to Huddersfield in the fourth round to take on Emley, who were also 4-0 winners yesterday against another North West Counties League side West Didsbury and Chorlton.
Former Workington Reds striker Ruben Jerome scored twice, including one from the penalty spot and two other ex-Workington players are in the Emley squad – Donae Lawrence and Iyrwah Gooden.
