Five people arrested after serious attack in Carlisle park

Five people have been arrested in connection with a serious assault in Carlisle.

Police are investigating the assault in Heysham Park and the victim sustained significant head injuries, police said.

The assault happened on Friday, December 15, at around 4.15pm at the yellow caged multi-use games area in the park, off Raffles Avenue.

Five people were arrested on suspicion of assault and released under investigation.

Cumbria police said: “We believe the suspects entered Heysham Park via the entrance at either Shady Grove Road or Thomlinson Avenue.

“We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the assault or have any information to please come forward on those involved.

“In addition, if you live near the area where the incident happened and have CCTV or dashcam then please get in touch.”
