A 40-year-old man has been detained under the Mental Health Act following an incident in West Cumbria.
The man was arrested yesterday, Thursday January 5, on suspicion of malicious communications.
Schools and organisations received phone calls and emails containing threats and several schools, including Frizington Primary School and Westlakes Academy in Egremont, enacted emergency lockdown protocols.
People detained under the Mental Health Act need urgent treatment for a mental health disorder and are at risk of harm to themselves or others and have to stay in hospital for assessment or treatment.
