Barrow are reported to have made an offer for the available Cole Stockton, the Burton striker who appears to have fallen out of favour.
Respected online pundit Alan Nixon believes that Barrow and Burton have agreed a deal for Stockton to potentially move to Holker Street, with the final decision now up to the centre-forward.
Stockton faces an uncertain future in East Staffordshire as a number of teams appear to be interested in his services.
Which is hardly surprising given that the 29-year-old has built a reputation for being a clinical finisher in League One and League Two throughout recent years.
Nixon says that although a number of other clubs have shown an interest in Stockton, it’s Barrow who have made the strongest offer.
League One outfits Charlton Athletic and Stevenage are also reportedly keen on the former Morecambe man, who recorded 52 goals in 153 outings for the Shrimps.
Huyon-born Stocktpon started his youth career with Tranmere and was at Prenton Park from 2011-2017, making 97 senior appearances with 14 goals.
He spent time on loan, including non-League Vauxhall Motors and Southport before an initial short spell with Morecambe.
He scored once in 18 apprarances for Carlisle in 2018 and from 2019-2023 had his most productive spell as a pro as a Morecambe player.
He has only played eight game since linking up with Burton and could be on his way back north to join Pete Wild’s Barrow.
