Despite distinctly poor weather on Saturday, Workington Reds maintained their healthy average attendance at Borough Park.

For the home game with Warrington Rylands there were 752 spectators braving the wind and rain.

It means that after 13 home games so far the Reds have an average home attendance of 734 which puts them sixth in the NPL Premier Division’s attendance table.

Macclesfield are well out on top with an average attendance of 3,126 at the former Football League side.

Three other clubs have average crowds in four figures – FC United of Manchester (1,688). Marine (1,162) and League leaders Radcliffe (1,145).

Ilkeston come next on 773 followed by Workington (734) with Worksop (712) and Matlock (700).

Atherton, battling to stay in the Division have the lowest average attendance of 301.

Twelve clubs have their highest attendance of the season in four figures – again topped by Macclesfield (4,201) with Workington’s best set at 1,026.
