Cleator have signed 30-year-old Indian batsman Rishabh Tiwari for the 2024 season.
Their new recruit has just been celebrating his career-best score in the prestigious Ranji Trophy.
Tiwari hit 17 fours and a six in compiling 138 off 237 deliveries for Chhattisgarth in their Trophy game against Hamachel Pradesh.
It was a nice reward for Tiwari as back in November he made 96 for Chhattisgarth in a List A game against Meghalaya.
Cleator had a long struggle last season before moving out of relegation danger and they will be hoping their new professional can help them improve their Cumbria League position in the coming season.
Tiwari bowls leg breaks but is only rarely used in the first class game in India, although he is expected to turn his arm over for Cleator.
This will be the first time Tiwari has played in the UK and will be in Cleator for the first match of the 2024 season.
