A man has been seriously injured in a West Cumbrian assault.
The incident happened in Cockermouth and Gareth Skillen, 41, of Ribton Close, Cockermouth, has been charged with attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent.
He will remain in police custody until he appears before Workington Magistrates’ Court on January 29.
The charge follows an incident on 22 January. A man, in his 30s, suffered serious facial injuries which required medical treatment.
Cumbria Constabulary said: “Police are aware of a video connected to this incident which was circulated. Cumbria Constabulary would like to remind everyone that criminal proceedings are live.
“It is extremely important that there should be no reporting, comments or sharing of information online which could in any way prejudice ongoing proceedings.”
