Millenic Alli, a tricky winger who spent time on loan with Workington, has joined League Two side Exeter City.

The Devon side have signed him for an undisclosed fee from AFC Halifax Town after 18 months at the Shay.

Alli, who was born in the Republic of Ireland and celebrates his 24th birthday next Tuesday, started his career with Bury’s youth team before joining South Shields in 2019.

In 2020 he linked up with the Reds in Danny Grainger’s first spell and caught the eye with a number of skilful performances on the left-hand side.

He actually played for Reds during the truncated 2019-20 season and would have had more matches but the season ended in March..

He made three starts with six sub appearances in the League scoring against Mossley, Tadcaster Albion, Brighouse Town and Kendal Town.

Also played in two cup matches and scored a Cumberland Cup goal against Windscale to take his Reds tally to five in 11 appearances – six from the bench..

He then had spells with Ashton United and Stockport County before joining Halifax in the summer of 2022.

Alli scored 11 goals in 37 appearances in his first season with the club and has seven in 21 this campaign, although an injury means his last appearance for the Shaymen came on Boxing Day.

He scored in a 2-1 win over Altrincham, and he will not immediately be available for selection, but should be back in a couple of weeks.

Alli was the second signing made by Exeter ahead of the transfer deadline closure after striker Mo Eisa joined in a loan deal from League Two MK Dons.
