Belle Vue skipper Brady Kurtz believes team spirit will be the key to another play-off challenge in the Sports Insure Premiership this season.
At the forefront of that is the friendship he has with West Cumbrian Dan Bewley, who is returning to the Aces for the 2024 campaign.
In fact the Aces have retained the bulk of the side who were a whisker away from reaching a third successive Grand Final last year, with Kurtz’s fellow Australian racer Ben Cook coming into the top five and Connor Mountain a new recruit for the Aces at reserve.
Kurtz said: “The last couple of years we’ve had really good teams. Last season was no different and the same for this year, we have a fantastic group of guys.
“Dan and I are really good friends, always together during the week, mountain-biking and doing whatever else we can get up to.
“Me and Jaimon [Lidsey] have been friends for many years as well. It’s been cool to have all us three together. We’ve had great teams and I’ve really enjoyed being at Belle Vue the last few years.”
Bewley talked about his ways of relaxing away from the speedway in an interview for Cumbria Crack earlier this week. Mountain biking and fell walking were high on the agenda, and you can hear the chat below:
