Lowca and Cockermouth Titans will be in the first round draw of the BARLA National Cup on Wednesday night.

The Titans had a preliminary round bye while Lowca performed really well to beat Keighley Albion 42-26 on Saturday.

“I was really pleased with the team’s performance,“ said Lowca coach Lee Allen whose side will be strong contenders for a top four finish in the Holmen Iggesund Cumberland ARL.

The National Cup dos not attract the entry it used to in formative years and only 16  sides will contest the first round.

Along with Lowca and Cockermouth the other sides involved are Featherstone Lions, Halton Farnworth Hornets, Dudley Hill, Birkenshaw Bulldogs, Folly Lane, Haresfinch, Mirfield, Orrell St James, Rochdale Mayfield, Sharlston Rovers, Siddal, Thatto Heath Crusaders, Upton and West Hull.
